Reserved – Danish living room set by B. Jensen & Sonner, circa 1960
Description
What I like
Completely removable, these seats are typical of the Danish design of the 60s, very refined, sometimes made of native light wood, sometimes in exotic wood. I like the simplicity of their design, which allows them to respond to their function, but with a controlled inventiveness that is typical of the creations of the time, in Denmark but also in France. The purity of their profile, the legs and armrests in the same plane, animated by the inclination of the rear leg, makes them very balanced and very comfortable seats. I really like the care taken in the execution of the backrest, with its slatted structure, which allows them to be viewed from all sides. The seat system with cushions makes it possible to easily change upholstery, at a lower cost. The warmth of oiled oak gives them a contemporary side, less common than teak.

Mix & Match
The living room set by Borge Jensen & Sonner is typical of the sleek design of the 1960s. Discreet because it is sleek, it can of course integrate a universe centered on Danish design from those years. It can be lit by the chandelier in black lacquered metal and glass plates by Erik Höglund and Boda Glasburk, Sweden(Holm Sorensen- Denmark distributor), around 1960: the Nordic character of the plates will be enhanced by our living room.
In addition to our living room, you can relax in the “Rock Royal” lounge chair and its ottoman by Sven Ivar Dysthe from the same 1960s.
In front of our Danish living room, I would introduce the coffee table with its black abstract top and metallic coffee table by Julien de Covemaeker, alias Juliette Belarti: the bronze side of its decor will gently illuminate the oiled oak.
On the walls, the brown palette enhanced with the brass inlays of the Enrique Broglia tapestry “Composicion metalica”will bring calm to our living room, whereas if we choose to hang Daniel de Linière’s tapestry “Spanish Night”, it is chose a tonic alarm clock!
In the room, the floor lamp by Mado Jolain and René Legrand will bring the poetry of its wrought iron and the cheerfulness of the enamel of its tablet.
