SOLD – “Idra” lamp designed by R. Toso for Leucos, circa 1982
Description
What I like
I love this soothing, poetic lamp, which enchants the eye. This lamp, lit, develops a soothing dreamlike landscape, reminiscent of the seabed or the sky. Blue murines cause appeasement. The soft double curve of both faces floats above the white plinth. The whole of this lamp brings, in addition to efficient lighting, serenity and a note of dream in your interior. I like this gentle and inventive spirit, as well as the quality of manufacture, always associated with the achievements of the Leucos company, since its origins. Well anchored in the 1980s, this lamp is no less timeless and fits perfectly into any interior.

Mix & Match
Discreet by the softness of its colors and its material, the glass, translucent, bringing a soft but also real light, the Idra lamp by Renato Toso can be used in a living room, on a coffee table for example from the 1970s with a glass top. smoked from the set of five tables in the style of Willy Rizzo. But it also has a strong presence, through its successful design, which makes it a kind of work of art: it could also sit enthroned on the table Cylinders in chromed chrome metal also coming from Italy, and a little earlier (years 1970).
Obviously, it will ideally light the “Orsay” table designed by Gae Aulenti in the same design years as the Idra lamp: the whiteness of the Orsay ensemble will be a setting for these dreams assembled in this glass object.
On the ceiling, the Cubico chandelier by Gaetano Sciolari will feature the same Murano glass, with the same introduction of the color blue.
Finally, on the walls, always to remain in the range of blues, I would gladly hang the work “Vers la joie” by Paul Shusaku Foujino or, for its equally dreamlike character, the diptych: “Invocation” and “L’eau et Dreams by Charles Piquois.
