Pair of green modernist armchairs by Philippe Parent, circa 1980

What I like

I like the shape of these armchairs, modernist, forming a cubist sculpture with sharp edges, softened by the rounded outline of the armrests. There are both sharp angles and a softness: it looks like a piece of furniture by Gerrit RIetweld and Adirondack chairs!

I also really like the refined note of their water green color which introduces a soft polychromy into an interior.

Last but not least, these armchairs are very comfortable, contrary to what a quick glance might suggest! In addition, you can write or put a cup of coffee on the armrests!

Mix & Match

This pair of armchairs, with their assumed polychromy, admirably surrounds the Italian coffee table with a reconstituted and tinted wooden top from the Alpi house, from the 70s/80s, which forms a bar: only good times to come! I would also combine it with Bernard Jardel’s pop art painting: add orange to green, why not? This would create a dynamic and pop atmosphere… On Gae Aulenti’s white table in the Orsay salon, which will be placed in the background, the lamp featuring the large amethyst from Brazil will also bring its rare color, for a  rarer, almost mannerist!

Finally, I would love to display the tapestry by Daniel de Linières “Nuit d’Espagne” on the walls, in bright solid tones: the purple of the background of the tapestry would be an ideal setting for the pale green sculpture that these armchairs are.
