Enameled ceramic floor lamp from Dijkstra, circa 1960-1970
Description
What I like
First of all I like is the beauty of the lamp as a whole, the foot formed by these two cylinder sections of the ceramic, surmounted by the cylinder of the off-white lampshade.
Above all, I really like the attention to detail: the slightly recessed base, the bowl-shaped top of the belly, and above all the superb celadon enamel with a hint of brown, with a very abstract decoration: it looks like a Zao Wou Ki! There are several examples of this blade foot, each with a really different enamel: the one we present has certainly one of the most refined decorations!
Finally, I like the reassuring and extremely refined presence of this lamp, placed on the floor or on a very low table, and its real ability to light up an entire part of the room.
What a beautiful illustration of the research carried out on ceramics, in a desire to offer a piece of painting in a minimalist room, very typical of the 1960s to 1970s!

Mix & Match
This lamp is extremely refined, and will bring an elegant note to any interior.
Its celadon and brown colors, as well as the sand of its lampshade, will go perfectly with the large desk in walnut, chromed metal and black lacquer from the same years 1960-1970: the large size of our lamp is an asset for that it is an important element of the decoration of a room, while knowing how to remain reserved.
Surprisingly, this lamp can also be a powerful ally of the pair of Grasshopper armchairs by Sonja Wasseur, which come from the same country and the same period: in both cases, range with brown, elegance of minimalist lines, quality of the manufacturing.
I see our lamp interacting either with Daniel de Linière’s tapestry, Vent d’été, which also dates from the 1960s, whose greige background will play with the browns of the ceramic, or by remaining in the browns and elegance, with the Composicion metallica tapestry by Enrique Broglia, whose brass inlays will reflect the electric light!
As far as the sculptures are concerned, our lamp can perfectly illuminate the matte metal of the monumental statue by Guillaume Leunens, Colonnes, 1966: the years definitely match!
