What I like

First of all, I like the fairly cubic shape of these armchairs and the color of their wood, left natural; this volume is nicely animated by the sculpture, light on the uprights, more open on the side panels and on the front: these geometric patterns are different on each armchair: 6-pointed stars for one, cruciform patterns for the other. These non-figurative motifs let the mind wander and dream of other horizons.

I like the simplicity of the seat, which does not leave out comfort, thanks to the backrest on a pivot. The black leatherette upholstery can be changed inexpensively for a more cheerful one, if desired. As it is, it is very practical, non-messy and neutral?

I like this reminder of the Orient combined with a style, Art Deco, which was exhibited at the Colonial Exhibition of 1937: there is no doubt that seats reminiscent of ours were exhibited there. I also like their fairly reasonable size, as well as their low weight, which allow them to be moved easily, why not on a terrace in summer!

I even love small restorations, which bear witness to a story, and long evenings spent sitting, chatting!

Mix & Match

This pair of armchairs is very easy to move: it will be installed in a living room, a bedroom, on a terrace: their reduced size and their abstract decoration, as well as their very simple shape allow them to be introduced into many rooms, even if we must say that cohabitation with Louis XV or Louis XVI furniture will not be easy! But, when the furniture and objects are from the Art Deco period or later, our armchairs will brighten up the decoration and offer a cheerful seat thanks to their warm color!

Visitor armchairs in front of the large walnut desk of the Banque de France, they will match Pierre Guariche’s G10 armchairs, with which they share a geometric spirit. Their caramel color will brighten up Gae Aulenti’s Orsay salon, all dressed in white! Their relatively low seat will put them at the height of our pair of 1970 low chairs, covered in orange fabric!

I could see them surrounding the Cylindres coffee table in chromed metal from the 1970s, or the bar table in brushed and chromed metal by Lodovico Acerbis! Or placed in front of Joseph André Motte’s “Oeils” row for Les Huchiers!

On the walls, their honey color can be recalled by the large tapestry “Composicion metallica” by Enrique Broglia, its browns and its brass accents!

Why not associate them with a light from the North? So add the Cubico chandelier by Gaetano Sciolari, with ice blue accents, or the more muted colors of our wrought iron chandelier with the molded glass plates by Erik Höglund and Boda Glasburk.
